VivaJets to Support Africa CEO Forum as Strategic Mobility Partner

Nigerian business aviation firm VivaJets has announced its participation in the 2026 edition of the Africa CEO Forum as a strategic mobility partner, where it will facilitate the seamless movement of business and political leaders across the continent.

The forum, scheduled to hold in Kigali, Rwanda, is expected to attract more than 2,500 business executives, investors, and public sector leaders. Discussions at the event will focus on private-sector-driven growth, cross-border investments, and economic integration under the theme “The Scale Imperative: Why Africa Must Embrace Shared Ownership.”

The programme, set to commence on May 14, will feature a strong Nigerian delegation led by President Bola Tinubu, alongside leading business figures and regional stakeholders.

VivaJets’ participation comes on the back of recent strategic developments, including securing a $10 million credit facility from London-based TLG in October to support its expansion into global markets. The company said the funding is aimed at bridging connectivity gaps between African commercial hubs, reducing dependence on indirect flight routes, and enhancing intra-African trade.

Speaking on the development, Chief Executive Officer, Erika Achum, said the company views business aviation as a key enabler of Africa’s economic integration.

“Africa’s skies should unite rather than divide us. Our involvement in the Africa CEO Forum reflects our belief that business aviation plays a vital role in connecting markets across the continent. With our growing fleet, we are well-positioned to meet rising demand from leaders engaging in critical meetings and events shaping Africa’s future,” Achum said.

She added that the company is working to expand access to private aviation, enabling more stakeholders to participate in driving transformation across the region.

Beyond its operational growth, VivaJets has also advocated reforms in the aviation sector, calling for the removal of policy barriers such as restrictive visa requirements for aircrews and fragmented regional regulations that hinder industry expansion.

The firm is also pushing for a more unified aviation framework aligned with the goals of the African Continental Free Trade Area, aimed at improving accessibility and strengthening regional collaboration.

Chief Operating Officer, Tejumade Salami, noted that the forum’s theme aligns with the company’s strategic focus on regional integration.

“At ACF 2026, we will engage with key stakeholders addressing mobility challenges across Africa. Our continued investment in fleet and route expansion is designed to connect major business centres, reduce reliance on indirect travel, and support intra-African trade,” Salami said.

VivaJets said its participation underscores its commitment to facilitating efficient movement across Africa while contributing to broader efforts aimed at boosting economic integration and connectivity across the continent.
