The Federal Government has launched an artificial intelligence-powered platform, GovGuideNigeria, designed to simplify how Nigerians access government information and public services across ministries and agencies.

The initiative was announced on Thursday by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, who said the platform forms part of broader efforts to enhance public service delivery through digital innovation.

According to the Minister, GovGuideNigeria is accessible via WhatsApp and the web, and supports English, Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba, making it more inclusive for users across different linguistic backgrounds.

He explained that the platform aggregates information from over 35 federal ministries and more than 60 government agencies, helping citizens access public services more efficiently while reducing barriers related to language and digital literacy.

▪ “Today, we launched GovGuideNigeria, an AI-powered platform designed to make access to government information simpler, faster, and more inclusive for every Nigerian,” Tijani said.

He added that the initiative reflects government commitment to ensuring artificial intelligence delivers practical benefits to citizens, particularly underserved and low-literacy communities that often struggle with access to official information.

What the Minister is saying

Tijani noted that the platform was developed in collaboration with the National Centre for AI and Robotics (NCAIR), Meta, and Publica, highlighting the importance of public-private partnerships in driving digital transformation.

▪ He said the initiative demonstrates how collaboration between government institutions, technology firms, and local innovators can address long-standing challenges in public sector service delivery.

He also encouraged Nigerians to adopt the platform for easier access to government-related information and services.

Get up to speed

Nigeria’s push into AI-driven governance builds on earlier digital innovation efforts, including the launch of the N-ATLAS multilingual large language model, developed to support local language inclusion in artificial intelligence systems.

That project was implemented through partnerships involving Nigerian tech firms, NITDA, and the National Centre for AI and Robotics.

GovGuideNigeria now extends this trajectory by focusing directly on public service delivery and citizen engagement through conversational AI tools.

What you should know

The launch comes amid a wider Federal Government strategy to accelerate digital transformation and expand the use of artificial intelligence in governance.

In recent months, the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy has intensified efforts around AI policy development, digital infrastructure expansion, and public sector reform.

The government has also begun co-developing an AI governance framework with industry stakeholders to ensure responsible and inclusive deployment of artificial intelligence across Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.
