The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) has unveiled a digital directory for practitioners and billboard assets, alongside the LASAA One App, in a move aimed at streamlining advertising operations across the state.
Speaking at the launch in Lagos, the agency’s Managing Director, Fatiu Akiolu, said the initiative introduces a digital framework to support the growing complexity of the out-of-home (OOH) advertising sector.
He noted that the platform is designed to bring structure and transparency to the industry by converting regulatory processes into a searchable and accessible system. According to him, the tools will enable practitioners to be clearly identified, advertising assets to be verified, and engagement with the agency to become faster and more efficient.
Akiolu explained that the digital directory serves as a central register of practitioners and billboard assets across the state, while the LASAA One App provides stakeholders with round-the-clock access to the agency’s services. He added that the system establishes a “single source of truth” for advertisers, media buyers, regulators and the general public, allowing users to verify information and interact with the agency without physical visits.
Also speaking at the event, Head of Client Service and Registration, Temitope Akande, said the initiative was driven by the need to improve regulatory precision and efficiency in a rapidly expanding megacity.
Akande noted that while LASAA has consistently carried out its regulatory mandate, the growth of Lagos and the evolution of the OOH industry had led to fragmented information systems, manual verification processes and increasing challenges in compliance monitoring. He said the new digital tools are expected to address these gaps by enhancing transparency, improving service delivery and strengthening regulatory oversight.
