CBN Offers N500bn Treasury Bills Across 91, 182 and 364-Day Tenors
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), on behalf of the Debt Management Office (DMO), has announced a N500 billion Nigerian Treasury Bills (NTB) offering across 91-day, 182-day and 364-day tenors.
The bills will be auctioned through the Dutch auction system on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, according to an Invitation to Tender issued by the apex bank.
The offer notice, obtained by Nairametrics on Tuesday, September 8, directed all Money Market Dealers to submit their bids through the CBN S4 WEB INTERFACE between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
The auction comes as the CBN continues to actively manage liquidity in the financial system through the issuance and redemption of government securities.
Successful bidders are expected to receive their allotment letters on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
The CBN also directed successful bidders to make payment into their accounts with the Central Bank of Nigeria no later than 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10.
The latest NTB auction is expected to attract strong interest from banks, institutional investors and other money-market participants as investors assess prevailing yields and liquidity conditions.
The outcome of the auction will also provide an indication of market demand for short- and medium-term government securities amid ongoing liquidity management operations by the CBN.
