Flutterwave, ASIF Partner to Boost Youth Entrepreneurship, Financial Inclusion

Flutterwave and Activate Success International Foundation have announced a strategic partnership aimed at advancing youth entrepreneurship, digital financial inclusion, and enterprise development across Nigeria.

The collaboration is anchored on the 2026 edition of the Youth Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Programme (YEEP), bringing together both organisations in a shared effort to expand economic opportunities for young Nigerians.

The initiative aligns with broader national priorities to deepen financial inclusion and increase youth participation in the formal economy. Stakeholders note that expanding access to digital financial tools is key to unlocking productivity within Nigeria’s largely informal sector and enabling young entrepreneurs to scale their businesses.

Under the partnership, both organisations will also explore opportunities to connect programme beneficiaries to additional enterprise support initiatives, strengthening pathways for long-term business growth.

Over the past decade, ASIF has built a reputation as a credible platform for enterprise development through YEEP, providing young entrepreneurs with training, mentorship, and funding opportunities. In 2025 alone, the programme disbursed over ₦50 million in cash and equipment grants to selected participants with viable business proposals.

YEEP 2025 attracted more than 2,000 participants, while ASIF’s wider youth engagement initiatives—including activations at National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camps—reached over 30,000 young people nationwide.

As Lead Sponsor of YEEP 2026, Flutterwave will support the programme while integrating its payment ecosystem, including its cross-border remittance platform, Send App, alongside merchant solutions and digital financial infrastructure. This is expected to equip participants with the tools to receive payments globally, manage transactions efficiently, and scale sustainable enterprises.

Speaking on the partnership, Founder and CEO of Flutterwave, Olugbenga Agboola, said Nigeria’s youthful population represents a major economic asset that requires the right tools to unlock its potential.

“For over a decade, we have focused on building infrastructure that enables individuals and businesses to transact and grow across borders. This partnership with ASIF allows us to extend that impact by equipping young entrepreneurs with the tools they need to build sustainable businesses,” he said.

Agboola added that the collaboration would introduce Flutterwave’s payment solutions to young Nigerians, including corps members participating in NYSC orientation programmes across Abuja and other states.

Also speaking, Founder and CEO of ASIF, Love Idoko-Uloko, emphasised the importance of providing resources rather than handouts to young people.

“Young Nigerians do not need to be rescued; they need to be resourced. Our focus has always been on delivering real opportunities through funding, skills, and access. Partnering with Flutterwave strengthens this mission and expands the impact for every entrepreneur we support,” she said.

YEEP 2026 is scheduled to take place on June 8, 2026, in Abuja. Beyond the event, the partnership will extend to NYSC orientation camps nationwide, where corps members will gain exposure to digital financial tools, merchant services, and financial management solutions.

Analysts say the initiative could play a significant role in fostering entrepreneurship, improving financial inclusion, and supporting sustainable economic growth among Nigeria’s youth population.
